SPERA MUNDIAn embassy of around 30 people will depart from Guimarães on the 2nd September through Europe, to get to Maribor (European Capital of Culture, Slovenia) on the 22nd September. It is a delegation consisting mostly by Companhia Erva Daninha and Point ViewArt Association but also with other group members from Portugal, Brazil, Macau, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
"Playing Landscape" is the play developed by the Macanese Company Point View Art Association. It will be on stage on the 1st September at Fábrica ASA, at 10:00 pm. The show repeats on the 2nd Sept, at 5:00 pm, the same place. Also on the 2nd Sept, at 10:00 pm, the show "Aduela" will be played on the Garden of CCVF. This show is developed by Company Erva Daninha. These events will launch an artistic and cultural task force, mainly composed by these two companies. This delegation will leave on a unique caravan journey towards Slovenia, with stops in Tàrrega, Marseille and Ljubljana. The arrival in Maribor will be on the 22nd September, when the companies will perform their plays. The trip as well as the entire process will be documented: by a weekly column at the newspaper Público and filming by a team from Macau in broadcasting quality, with broadcasts on a Macanese live television programme, twice a week. Afterwards, the pieces will be edited to a documentary format. This trip is part of the SPERA MUNDI, or the hope of the world, a project that aims to respond to the challenge of representing the universal potential of Portugal in an Europe fragmented and already devoid of utopia. It raised from the proposal of Goro Osojnik, a Slovenian cultural director and producer, for a project of representation between the two European Capitals of Culture. The starting point would be representing Guimarães, the cradle of nationality, and a work of Paulo Borges " Uma Visão Armilar do Mundo - A Vocação Universal de Portugal em Luís de Camões, Padre António Vieira, Teixeira de Pascoaes, Fernando Pessoa e Agostinho da Silva (An Armillary Vision of the World - The Universal Vocation of Portugal in Luís de Camões, Padre António Vieira, Teixeira de Pascoaes, Fernando Pessoa and Agostinho da Silva) to meet the challenge of representing the universal potential of Portugal in a fragmented Europe. It is a speculative line of thought about Portugal. Under the project SPERA MUNDI, Guimarães will also host a company from Brazil, who will present the show "Gigantes pela Própria Natureza" (Giants by Nature). Point View Art Association is a Macanese artistic and cultural nonprofit association. Its members come from different nationalities and professions, such as theater directors, visual artists, musicians, set designers, costume designers, actors and dancers. The multimedia theater is their main goal. Through experimental performances, they seek new forms of theatrical expression trying to expand new horizons to the audience. Their tasks include education through art, research, cultural and artistic events, raising awareness and boosting the public's approach to the different art forms, improving the link between groups from Macau and Hong Kong, several Chinese cities and the world. At this point, it will put together the work of several companies: Macau - Point View Art Association - "Playing Landscape" Performance interaction between expressions of traditional and contemporary theater and dance with multimedia and painting. The message establishes a level of communication between the humanistic oriental spirit with modern societies, and the relationships between urban life and nature. It is a Macanese project, with artists from Macau, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Beijing and Seoul. Portugal - Companhia Erva Daninha – “Aduela” Contemporary circus on the street.
