Three days prior to the moment the above photo was taken, we rushed to leave the lovely hostel (with its magical kitchen) in Guimaraes for a weekend in Vila Real with friends. We didn't see much of the town itself because our friends' house was too good to leave, and the entertainment programmes they'd prepared for us were absolute "must-sees." But all parties must end, and such is life, so we left Monday morning. Although it is good when it is hard to say goodbye, we said our goodbyes and drove back to Guimaraes, camping at Penha Camp Site and waiting for our fellow SPERA MUNDI travellers to gather themselves here.
Monday evening, on our walk to the nearby restaurant, because everyone was so impressed and in awe of these amazing views, we missed the prime time to eat and had to go with cafeteria food for the first time in two weeks!

Imagine this action taken by a dozen mesmerised visitors..., and add up the time it takes for all of them to be done with snapshots at every scenic discovery, with still more amazing views to come... No wonder would have missed their dinner. They took too long to walk the 5 minute walk!
Mike is our director of photography. To his left stood Nicholas, Gabriel, Gamen, and others. | Erik, the producer of Playing Landscape 6.0, was benevolent. He wasn't really into taking a touristy snapshot of himself at, all but he was hassled into compliance, and gave me his best (most patient possible) smile. |
Hello again, Guimaraes.
